Nonnewaug High School in Woodbury has a little lamb with fleece as white as snow. All she needs now is a name, and agriscience students there are seeking the public’s help in finding one.
In a message sent out on social media this week, the school asked the community (and the world) to select one five names from a list narrowed down by students. Options are Lambchop, Dolly, Luna, Tululla (Tillie for short) and Magee.
The yet-to-be-named lamb arrived last month along with her two siblings.
Agriscience teacher Kathleen Gorman said the idea for the social media poll came from the school’s FFA Chapter officers who wanted to give the public the opportunity to participate in the naming process. Gorman said the pandemic has restricted outside visitors from entering the school, which has made it difficult for students to educate and connect with the community.
“Our students wanted to share the happenings going on and to invite the community to be part of our program even in a small way,” Gorman said.
Votes can be cast on the Woodbury FFA Chapter Instagram page, woodbury_ffa. The new name will be shared soon on social media.
