MES 4th Grade Visits Woodbury Senior Community Center Pen Pals
Lindsay Zaborowski's fourth-grade class walked from Mitchell Elementary School to the Woodbury Senior Community Center to meet their pen pals.
Students and local senior citizens wrote letters back and forth throughout the year. Students made a wonderful connection with members of a different generation in our community through their correspondence.
The visit was a great way to celebrate a very rewarding and heartwarming experience. Students enjoyed lunch, conversation, and sidewalk chalk drawings with their pen pals and even some hopscotch.
