MES 1st Grade Looks at the Life of Butterflies

First graders in Blair Russell's class at Mitchell Elementary School have observed the amazing life cycle of a butterfly from tiny caterpillars to chrysalis, and finally beautiful butterflies over the past few weeks. Today, students released them outside! They loved watching them spread their wings and fly away.

A few lucky students even got the chance to gently hold the butterflies before they took off. It was a wonderful hands-on learning experience that students in this class will always remember.
