College and Career Week at MES Gets Students Thinking About Careers In Many Ways

College and Career Week at Mitchell Elementary School began with Careers on Wheels Day. Students had the chance to see several vehicles they see on the road each day - a fire truck, police cruiser, ambulances, plows, a mail truck, a backhoe, town trucks, an animal transport, and a big rig - and hear about the careers that go with them.

During Career Speakers Day third, fourth, and fifth graders heard from a wide variety of local professionals who came to share about their careers. Students heard from professionals in the areas of emergency services including firefighters and EMT, police, law and corrections, physical therapy, adaptive driver, welding and manufacturing, nursing, aerospace engineering, politics, education administration, business marketing, commercial construction, and water utilities. Thank you to the many parent professionals who took the time to share about their careers and answer the many questions from MES students.
