Technology Vision Plan

Region 14 will continue to create an effective learning environment through the use of technologies that will enhance curriculum, differentiate learning for students and staff, and create a collaborative environment which supports critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making.

Digital Citizenship

Region 14 is committed to Digital Citizenship, We teach and reinforce the appropriate, responsible use of technology on a daily basis in our schools. We are steadfast in helping to prepare our students to be responsible members of our society rife with technology.

With the roll out of our Chromebook initiative, Digital Citizenship is more important than ever. Before our students can take ownership of their Chromebooks though our 1:1 Initiative, the Acceptable Use Policy must be signed by students and parents.

In Region 14, understanding digital citizenship requires frequent conversations especially among the younger student population who are just learning the dos and don’ts of the digital world. At the elementary school level, they have weekly technology/computer lab as a special. At the middle and high school level, the teachers and Library Media Specialists reinforce the mores about digital safety and digital access, digital communication, e-commerce, digital literacy, digital ethics and law as well as the digital rights and responsibilities of each individual.

Acceptable Use Policies

Proper use of electronic information technology enhances the curriculum and learning opportunities for students as well as the teaching resources of school personnel.
